When it comes to American comfort food, few dishes can match the popularity and nostalgia of the classic Sloppy Joes. This simple yet delicious sandwich is a staple of lunchboxes, family dinners, and casual gatherings across the country. I remember eating Sloppy Joes on a regular basis when I was a kid.

Add garlic and cook until the onions are translucent and the bacon is very done (almost crispy). This should take around 10 minutes.
Pour the bacon mixture and fat from the pan onto a paper towel to remove excess fat.
Place ground meat in the same pan and cook until done. Season the meat with BBQ spice rub if you like it spicy or just use salt and pepper if prefer a milder version.
